An initiative to ring the Boundaries of Europe with Worship!
Europe Ring of Worship, 7th – 9th July 2017, was a worship and prayer event to ring the boundaries of Europe with worship and prophetic prayer. Twelve teams worshipped and prayed for three days simultaneously in a ring around Europe.
Twelve Teams, One Ring
- North Cape, North of Norway
- Iceland
- West of Ireland
- West of Portugal
- South of Spain / Gibraltar
- Sicily, South of Italy
- Crete
- Cyprus
- Istanbul
- Georgia & Armenia
- Caucasus Mountains in Russia
- Yekaterinburg in the Ural Mountains in Russia
Twelve teams, all worshiping and praying at the same time, and all of them spaced around the boundaries of the continent of Europe, for three days. This way we surrounded Europe with worship and prayer to say, “This is our continent and we give it to God!” With the character of Europe being changed by humanism, atheism and other religions, it was time for the European church to say that this is God’s continent and we ask him to bless it!
Feedback & Highlights From The Teams
• From the Ireland team:
Europe needs to return to her Christian roots.
Worship – the angels joined us, warrior angels. We were able to be outside beside the sea, it’s stunning here. Judgment is inevitable I feel if we do not repent.
The Lord gave us Psalm 9.
• Powerful times of worship at the House of Prayer in Yekaterinburg, Ural Mountains, Russia.
Prayer at the Europe/Asia border monument. Great unity and joy between the Russians and Germans who were there.
• From Crete:
During our time of worship on Saturday evening we were given a picture of the Cross laying across Europe but laid flat. It troubled us and as we sought the Lord, someone was given an explanation. We need to embrace the Cross in order for it to be lifted high above the continent of Europe. To the degree we are willing to lay down our lives, to that degree the people of Europe will be able to see the resurrected life that Jesus enabled through the Cross.
• An update from Armenia:
“Yesterday we had the privilege to pray together with women from an interdenominational prayer group. Even though many of them didn’t speak English, the unity of heart was wonderful. After our worship and prayer time and the rebuilding of the wall of righteousness, one lady shared that she saw that all those separate flames around Europe are starting to become one big fire over the continent. A similar picture we got earlier this year during one of the Skype prayer meetings.”
Another special moment was when another Armenian lady shared, that God wanted her as an Armenian to reach out to the Turkish people (very special, knowing the history between these two countries) … to the Turkish people living in Germany … very encouraging for our German sister on our team.
• From SW Turkey:
It was great to join with you all. One of the things we sensed was to pray for Europe’s releasing forgiveness toward this nation … and that rest of Europe’s prayers for Turkey will be one of the keys to revival in this country. Nothing is too hard for our mighty amazing GOD!
• From Igor in Yekaterinburg:
When we established the Ring in the spirit realm we felt it was real, it happened. On the second day after reading Jericho and blowing the shofar and shouting there was the most powerful breakthrough, more than ever in my life!
A mighty flow came from heaven to Europe like roaring river, it was also like cavalry of angelic hosts into the continent. God showed his might. We were about 40 people with the Ihop team. We were completely in one Spirit with the local believers, as one team. And God did. We praise the Father of nations!!!
• From Ian in Spain:
I believe that this weekend saplings of a protective hedge have been successfully planted around Europe. That hedge now needs to be nurtured, fed, cared for and occasionally pruned as it grows and spreads around the continent. As it grows it will become more effective in protecting what God is doing in Europe.
• Last night the Crete team …
… saw the clouds open and rain pouring down on Europe (Beulah) from heaven. The clouds represent judgement. We prayed that this would be the latter rains poured out over Beulah. The latter rains are what comes before the harvest!
• From the North Cape team:
“We were able to worship God in front of all the people at the Nordkapp Visitor Centre. We also had a really good time praying for Israel and blessing it. Then afterwards we talked to some people who were sitting right behind us – they were Jews from Israel! So we spoke blessing over them and they spoke blessing back over us, it was really powerful.”
• From the Crete team:
“A number of us saw a Jewish wedding covering, a chuppah, over the whole of Europe. And thousands of angels all joining together in worship.”
How We Did It
- In this ring of worship and prayer around the continent of Europe we were all in different time zones. So we fixed a two-hour period each day when we could all worship and pray the same thing following a coordinated programme – really powerful! Outside these hours, each team decided its own programme.
- The programme had guidance for worship and prayer during the coordinated worship period each day, for example themes for worship, Bible verses to use in prayer, confessions, declarations etc. It was not a list of detailed instructions but was enough guidance so that we were one body all asking the Lord for the same thing and looking to him to lead us through it.
- We looked to God to lead us in our worship and prayer and we expected his Spirit to guide us and give us prophetic songs, prayers and actions.
- We kept in daily contact with each other through social media and email to share how we were doing and what God had said to us. We really felt like we were one team and one body surrounding Europe together. It also enabled supporters at home and around the world to join in, which many did.
- As preparation, a group of us met regularly online for a year beforehand to pray for this project. This laid a solid foundation of prayer.
Our Daily Prayer Programme
Day 1 Friday 7th July 2017
Worship – Lift up the name of Jesus over Europe. Europe belongs to God! Europe is not too hard for Jesus!
- Pray for this ring of worship to be established in the spirit.
- Pray for the two teams either side of you – see the map.
- Pray for all the other teams.
Jeremiah 6:16 – Europe is at a crossroads and we need to choose the right, godly path.
John 11:43-44 – Take off Lazarus’ grave clothes and let him go. The Lord gave us this verse to say that the church in Europe is not dead, it’s alive!
Isaiah 25:6-8 – We need the Lord to remove the cloud of gloom, the death shroud that hangs over Europe. He will swallow up death forever and wipe away all tears!
Bless the neighbouring continents:
- To the west, bless North & South America!
- To the south bless Africa!
- To the east bless Russia and the whole of Asia!
- And send a blessing over to Australasia and the Pacific!
- Finally, bless Israel! Pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6)
You can use the blessing of Aaron in Numbers 6:24-26.
Then let’s pray a special prayer for Turkey – God is shaking this nation. Today it is majority Muslim yet several of the New Testament books were written in that land. As far as I know, the Turks have never had revival, but they will not be left out before Jesus returns! Some of our countries have had a lot of history with the Turkish people, but let’s bless them as God has blessed us.
Many philosophies and religions are trying to steal Europe from God.
The religions – as well as Islam there is Hinduism, Buddhism (hidden but has a growing presence), Sikhism, New-Age, the Occult, and others.
Philosophies – atheism, humanism, secularism etc.
No! We are not giving up our continent to these fake beliefs!
Day 2 Saturday 8th July 2017
Start with a great time of worship and adoration to God, the Lord of all history.
Then pray the Prayer for Europe written by Ortwin Schweitzer, see the bottom of this page. Pause between each section for a prayer or a song.
Also use Psalm 51 and Nehemiah’s prayer in Nehemiah 1 – confess that Europe has turned away from God.
We believe also that we should repent of Europe’s anti-Semitism, in the past and still present today. Bless the Jewish people and declare that our continent of Europe is open for Jews, and we want them to be free to live in our countries.
Then declare that Europe is the Lord’s, full of grace and righteousness. God’s glory will be known again throughout Europe.
The enemy thinks that he has built a strong wall around Europe to keep God out and to make it a fortress of atheism and humanism. Pray for the enemy’s wall to fall and for God’s wall to be built, a wall of protection for righteousness. Joshua 6 and Nehemiah 1-6.
At 1 hour 30 minutes after the start of the coordinated worship period (ie. 15.30 in Iceland, 16.30 in Ireland etc), read Joshua 6:1-20 (the fall of the wall of Jericho) and give a mighty shout of triumph! Proclaim that Europe belongs to God alone.
Nehemiah 6, the completion of the wall of Jerusalem – pray for God’s wall of righteousness to be built, to let in good things but keep out bad things.
Day 3 Sunday 9th July 2017
Worship Jesus as the bridegroom of the church.
Isaiah 54:5-8 – the bride of Christ. Our Maker is our husband. “Yes Lord, here we are, your bride! Please bring us back with deep compassion!”
Mark 16:20 “And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked with them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs.” (New Living Translation NLT)
Europe will be won through the miraculous. Pray for 100 million Europeans to turn to God. See esbs.org. It can happen! and I believe it will happen through this verse coming true today. Yes, in the face of atheism and materialism, the Lord will work with his disciples throughout Europe, confirming what they say by many miraculous signs.
Acts 4:29-30 “And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give your servants great boldness in their preaching. Send your healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” (NLT)
At 1 hour 30 minutes after the start of the coordinated worship period, turn towards the centre of Europe and lift up your hands. Ask God to release the miraculous into Europe. Ask God to confirm his word with miracles. Lord, we’ve had enough of atheism and of weakened Christianity. We need the full miraculous!
Finally, ask God about any follow-up to this ring of worship and prayer. Is it finished, should we do it again, or should we do something different? Please tell me what you think God says.
That’s it, now finish with rejoicing! Hallelujah!
Where Did This Idea Come From?
I have organised prayer initiatives to two major rivers – the River Mekong in Asia and the River Nile in Africa. In both cases we had teams simultaneously at many points along the length of the river, from the source to the sea. For several days we all worshiped God the creator and lifted up the whole river to him, asking him to clean it from all the false worship and occult/witchcraft that had been done on it. Each time we had a powerful experience of God’s presence and saw breakthroughs for the kingdom.
Then I felt God leading me to Europe, not to a river, but to the whole continent. So in 2014 I prayed at the west coast of Ireland and at the Europe/Asia border near Yekaterinburg in Russia. In both places there was a theme of a wedding and I felt God’s presence very powerfully. He said to me through Isaiah 54:5-8 that he wants to woo Europe tenderly and call back his European bride:
So I put together this project to have worshiping and praying teams on the boundaries of Europe at the same time. God brought the twelve teams together with many wonderful and anointed people from different countries. It was such a joy to see them following the programme in their different locations and to receive reports of what they were doing. We really did put our arms around our continent and claim it for Jesus our Maker and our Bridegroom!
Faith in Jesus as Messiah/Christ is deep in the culture in Europe and in the spiritual realm. Revival and renewal has happened here many times in the past, so it can happen here again more easily. Why not now? But perhaps refining of the church has to come first…?
